THE BIAFRAN STATE.
By Obi Blaise.
The republic of Biafra took its name from the Bight of Biafra, the vast expanse of water covering the continental shelf into which the Niger River empties before flowing into the Gulf of Biafra. But after Biafra's surrender that body of water was renamed the Gulf of Guinea.
The origins of the word "Biafra" are difficult to trace, although historical records point to Portuguese writings from the sixteenth century that it may have been derived from.
The republic of Biafra capital was initially Enugu, a metropolis of over one hundred thousand at a the time. It was known as the coal city. Enugu was a well planned, sedate capital, it had a peasant climate and the advantages of the amenities of an important urban center without the pathologies of a large conurbation.
When Enugu fell to the Nigeria army on October 4, 1967, the administrative capital of Biafra was moved to Umuahia. Following the capture of Umuahia on April 22, 1969, Biafra capital was moved once again to Owerri, which was the last administrative seat before the end of the warvin January 1970.
The population of Biafra in June 1967 was just under fifteen million people which was home to a large number vof ethnic groups which Igbo made the 65 of the population. The other major groups were the Efik, Ibibio, Ijaw, and Ikwerre. Others include the Agbo, Degema, Egbema, Eket, Ekoi, Ibeno, Ikom, Iyalla, Kana, Mbembe, Uyanga and Yako.
Biafra was divided initially into Eleven administrative provinces but later was expanded to Twenty.
Biafra needed a means to access foreign exchange and a legal tender for commerce. One of the first things the new government did was to establish the Bank of Biafra.
The Bank of Biafra was located in Enugu until the city fell in October 1967, and then it was moved several times to different location all over Igbo land, with the seat of government. The bank's first governor was Dr Sylvester Ugoh.
The legal tender produced by the institution in 1968 was designed by Simon Okeke and other talented local artists. The denominations were the Five Shillings and One pounds notes. Despite the usefulness of the Biafra currency , it was not recognized legal tender beyond the Biafra borders and could not be used for foreign exchange.
This is the much I Obi Blaise can take in the topic THE BIAFRA STATE, but praying that in no distance time Biafra and her Currency shall be totally accepted across the entire globe in ChukwuokikeAbiama's name
Nnamdi Kanu Should Continue His Biafra Agitation, If The North Have Somebody Like Him Things Will Be Better – Northern Man, Mustapha
On # NnamdiKanu and # Biafra struggle , Kashiet Mustapha has this to say:
At least he stood up for the voice of his people, if not even all but you can see a considerable lot of the Easterners would love to be on their own country, my question is why not allow them? Is it compulsory to remain as one in Nigeria? and if you watch well politically they’ve not been favored or should I say marginalized? If they don’t know how to play the Nigerian politics so be it but they said they want to be on their own.
What I think should be done here is to organize a referendum both home and abroad for them so that they decide. Please Kanu, continue this fight do not stop but just apply a more diplomatic way, go seek for support from foreign countries.
If the north can have somebody like you to fight the high level of illiteracy and their ways of religious beliefs things will be more better. Allow them be on their own, the constitution allows it and it will even help Nigeria to be serious in surviving and develop on her own resources because right now Nigeria is a condemned country.

BIAFRA NEWSI desire Biafra, I want Biafra, I want nothing else other than Biafra – Nnamdi Kanu

Vows to challenge stringent bail conditions By Emeka Mamah & Dennis Agbo
Enugu — The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB,  Nnamdi Kanu, yesterday, said he would never give up his agitation for the restoration of Biafra Republic, noting that he wants the reward for his agitation in this world and not when he dies and goes to heaven. He also vowed to challenge his stringent bail conditions, saying they were unconstitutional. Kanu spoke in Enugu when he paid a thank you visit to the leadership of the Eastern Consultative Assembly, ECA.

The ECA appointed Kanu its leader in absentia when he was in detention in Kuje Prisons. Nnamdi Kanu The IPOB leader was received by top members of the ECA, including Mrs. Okwor and Evangelist Elliot Ugochukwu-Ukoh, among others. On those he left behind in the prisons, he said: “We are making efforts to see that they come out because they committed no crime. All we are seeking for  is freedom; a return to the values we had before the advent of white men.

A  situation where people move their cows into our farms and slaughter our people will no longer be acceptable.” Kanu’s scheduled visit to the Second Republic Vice President, Dr Alex Ekwueme, at Oko, Aguata in Anambra State for the same purpose was cancelled at the last minute due to alleged unforeseen circumstances. He was also scheduled to visit President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Nnia Nwodo, to express the same sentiments but the visit was postponed because Nwodo travelled to the United States of America, USA.

However, expressing his gratitude for the support showed to him by some Igbo leaders and groups, Kanu said he chose the option of fighting to liberate the people of Biafra, adding that there was no going back. His words: “I have chosen the option that we must be free as a people; that we must be liberated as a race and that we must have every freedom due to us as given by God.

I would not want to go to heaven before experiencing it; I want to experience it here. “I thank all of you that worked very hard, especially the Igbo Youth Movement; I must be specific, and the Eastern Consultative Assembly and all the market men and women, those that closed their shops to see us and all those who made efforts to ensure that I was not consumed. I thank all of you. “I desire Biafra, I want Biafra, I want nothing else other than Biafra. I will not settle for anything else other than Biafra.

That was what I was born to do and that is what I will do till the day Biafra will come that we may live as free men on this very earth as the Most High God, Chukwu Okike Abiama, ordained it.” On his stringent bail conditions, he described them as obnoxious and unconstitutional, vowing to challenge them in the days ahead. The IPOB  leader declined to speak with journalists, citing the bail conditions given to him by the high court.
THE MAJOR FEARS

ABOUT A

SOVEREIGN STATE

OF BIAFRA
On Sunday, April 30, 2017, I got a notification comment to one of my Banner Posts on Facebook by a Comrade, Pastor Sola.
The post read: "Before we became Nigerians 103 years ago, in 1914, we were Igbos. Ndigbo, onye aghala Nwanne ya!"
For the sake of those who are non-Igbo speakers, what this post entails in summary is that it's high time Ndigbo worldwide became more United, as before 1914 when British Overlord, Lord Lugard amalgamated the Northern and Southern Protectorates together, the Igbo people were Igbos first before they became Nigerians.
What this means is that even if an Igbo man is a Governor in the South-East, he must protect the Interest of Ndigbo, the people he governs before others. It's allowed at the Governorship level, after all, our God is a Jealous God.
Then, my Comrade's comment which sparked off the Biafran Question debate on the thread read: "Loooooooolz.. You will be given independence surely as God lives.. After the rapture tho...(Sic)."
No one knows when the rapture would take place. What this implies is that Biafra is a phantom dream before the eyes of some Nigerians, like my powerful Comrade, Mr. Sola, irrespective of the ethnic group.
Do you know the major fears of these set of Nigerians, across the North, South-South, South-West and even the South-East?
Sola bears their mind. Hear his argument: "Let's just face the selfish truth.. Biafra cannot happen... 1. Igbos cannot even pull their own weight 2. All your investments are outside your land 3. Igbos and selfishness are synonyms in the dictionary. 4. Nigeria politicians will not give you what you seek (Sic)."
These fears no doubt are valid, so we can't wish them away just with a flip of the hand.
1. Igbos can't pull their weight: What this means is that Ndigbo are not United and don't speak with one voice as regards this renewed agitation for a Sovereign State of Biafra, having exhausted patience for Nigeria to Restructure almost 47 years after the Civil War ended in 1970.
Note: No Igbo man has ever Steered the Ship of this country, no Igbo man has been President or Head of State since 1970.
Despite this sad reality, Ndigbo have remained resilient and consistent in the building of Nigeria. There is no part of the country, including Lagos and Abuja where Ndigbo have not invested for its growth and development humongously. So, why hasn't an Igbo man been the No. 1 Citizen of this country.
If this was done to our Yoruba or Hausa brothers, would Nigeria still be in existence? Let us think deep.
But some one would say, the Igbo population don't help them during elections. I beg your pardon, what will the population of an entire geo-Political zone which has just 5 Sham States do in an election compared to the Northern region which has 3 Geo-Political zones with over 19 States and a People with Distinct Culture, Tradition and Language. The people behind this fine arrangement for the North are Excellent Strategists. They see into the Future.
Don't forget, the Southern Region till date still has 17 States and 3 Geo-Political zones as well, but these zones are made up of peoples of different Cultures, Tradition and Language. This is already a focal point for Divide and Rule Politics and you expect a Cooperating South. Such a person must be high on Magnum Opium.
Till thy Kingdom come, the Southern Region can never cooperate, let alone expecting a cooperation between the North and South.
Digressing not, it can't be emperically proven that Ndigbo are disunited. The facts above makes other ethnic groups feel so. Such is a wrong perception and stereotype. Even if Ndigbo are United as seen during the 2015 Presidential election, where all manner of persons accused the same 'disunited' Igbos of "casting all their eggs in one basket," Igbos' votes alone can never win an Igbo man the Presidency. So, the argument about Disunity among Ndigbo is null and void.
2. All Igbo investments are outside the Land of the Rising Sun. I don't think using all is nice here. Yes, because of the Resilient spirit of Ndigbo, their love for one Nigeria, Ndigbo bounced back after the civil war in 1970 and flocked across the country fostering nation building.
Love was shown to Ndigbo by their hosts, as well, they have received hostilities but still trudging further. The rest is history today, as Ndigbo are everywhere.
I ask, are we no longer brothers again? Are we no longer practising Unity in Diversity? So, if a Referendum is conducted and Biaxit wins it, will our Yoruba or Hausa brothers covet the properties of Ndigbo or raise them down? That would amount to incivility, criminality and jealousy.
The fact remains that Post-Biaxit Plans would handle all these. It is happening in the United Kingdom as I write. The UK requested for 3 years for the Post-Brexit Plans. This is how civilised people do it.
POST-BIAXIT PLANS
I expect Ndigbo to gather their best heads to negotiate these Post-Biaxit Plans should Nigeria opt for Referendum and not Restructuring.
Contending issues are:
1. A Thematic Long-Term Plans to Building their New Nation
2. System of Government
3. Visa Policy
4. Legal Tender
5. Currency Valuation with other foreign currencies
6. Land Borders
7. Abandoned Properties and Business ventures
8. A new Nation embellished in Justice, Rule of Law, Good Governance, Equity, Fairness, and Egalitarianism
9. Defence
10. You can add your own.
Saying Igbos are Selfish has become a redundant cliché. Therefore, it's null and void as there is no empirical evidence to ascertain it. How can a selfish ethnic group continue to build other people's communities even more than theirs. Lagos, Abuja, Kano and other city centres in Nigeria are empirical evidences to throw this allegation out of the window.
If you tell me Ndigbo are Rebublicans and Domineering I would concur. If you tell me Ndigbo are fearless and don't care whose ox is gored when they believe in a genuine cause, I would concur. These are the issues.
On the issue of Nigerian Politicians won't give you what you seek, I ask who are they? The men that played God in the Bible against the freedom of the Hebrews, I hope we all know what happened to them. Pharaoh and Nebuchadnezzar come to mind.
What of those who swore with their hair that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu would rot in jail, what happened? The rest is history.
I recap, if Nigeria fails to Restructure after over 40years of this agitation, and opts for dismemberment nobody can stop it.
No where in the World is call for self-determination Treasonable. Only in Nigeria and other Authoritarian Countries. This is a fundamental right guaranteed by international conventions which Nigeria is a signatory to.
In the end, I say that this renewed agitation should be based highly on Intellectualism. No more spilling of blood; no more War War but Jaw Jaw.
If Ndigbo would opt for War War, I am out of it.

FULL TEXT OF NNAMDI KANU'S CLARIFICATION SPEECH MADE AVAILABLE THROUGH HIS COUNSEL, BARRISTER IFEANYI EJIOFOR 16TH MAY, 2017:
"Radio Biafra broadcasting from London is duly registered under the United Kingdom Regulatory Laws, fully licensed, and accordingly censored under the relevant regulatory frame work.
Nnamdi Kanu remains the founder, and Director of Radio Biafra London and accordingly Deputized by Mazi Uche Mefor.
It is on the face of the ongoing misconception and rumors
making the rounds regarding the status of a new renegade
channel floated in America that it has become necessary to
issue this official clarification with the blessing of the Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra.
Radio Biafra London is the officially sanctioned channel of communication of the Indigenous People of Biafra, through
which every information concerning the affairs of Indigenous
People of Biafra are disseminated. At the same time, all
members of the Indigenous People of Biafra and the general
public are hereby duly informed that the position of C.O.C (Coordinator of all Coordinators) overall, has been abolished following the recent reorganisation carried out by the Leadership of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) worldwide. Henceforth any person parading himself with the title C.O.C should be regarded and treated as a criminal.
Following this radical change in the structural setup of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), the world Administrative Headquarters of IPOB is now situated in London United
Kingdom and Germany respectively. The officers with the
mandate of the leadership of Indigenous People of Biafra
(IPOB) and through whom the supreme leader Nnamdi Kanu
speaks remains Radio Biafra London with satellite in South
Africa, Malaysia, Germany and soon to be opened United States of America.
The two persons appointed by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu as being
responsible for communicating his thoughts and views to IPOB membership and the rest of the world remains Uche Mefor (the Deputy
CRITICAL FACTS EVERY TRUE BIAFRAN MUST KNOW ABOUT IPOB & BIAFRA RESTORATION
1) Nnamdi Kanu has restructured the leadership structure of IPOB with immediate effect- there is nobody or position of Coordinator of Coordinators. CoC title is abolished.
2) Only two persons can authoritatively claim they are speaking for Nnamdi Kanu and they are: Deputy Leader Uche Mefor and Head of the Directorate of State (HDoS) Chika Edoziem. Through these two individuals, Nnamdi Kanu runs IPOB on a day to day basis. So the fact KANU cannot address the media directly or call media interviews has no effect on the potency of the struggle because he still runs IPOB on a daily basis. Anything they say or do has prior authorisation of the leader and should not be questioned.
3) Radio Biafra broadcasting from our studios in London remains the only authentic voice of IPOB worldwide. Hausa Fulani uncircumcised Alimajiri are busy opening radio stations in the name of Biafra to confuse our people and destroy the struggle from within. They have willing tools in some disobedient egomaniacs expelled from IPOB who would do anything to satisfy their Northern masters by seeking to undermine IPOB from within. Avoid these chameleons like the contagious disease they are.
4) Our former IPOB Embassy in Vittoria Basque Country Spain is shut down permanently. Any person or persons transacting any form of business with that office in the name of IPOB is doing so at his or her own risk. The public is hereby warned to disengage every involvement with that office. Our new embassy is in Cologne Germany with administrative headquarters in London.
5) Any public notice, directive or announcement made by our Deputy Uche Mefor or Head of Directorate of State Chika Edoziem should be regarded as gospel and the authentic views ofIPOB Supreme Leader Nnamdi Kanu.
.

HE CRUMBS OUR POLICIANS ARE PICKING FROM THE EVIL FEDERAL GOVERNMENT OF NIGERIA DOES NOT ALLOW MAJORITY OF THEM TO ANSWER THEIR FATHER IT COMES TO ISSUES THAT MATTERS MOST LIKE THE FREEDOM OUR ONE BILLION PRINCE THE OHAMADIKE NWACHINENEKE OF AFRICA, and that of fighting for their self freedom which if not how blinded they are should have hastened our collective freedom but will you them, because of selfish interest, they obey man rather than God. I am trying to answer the questions so many of us are asking about why our political leaders went hiding while people that are not from the southsouthsouthEast the likes of the Yoruba born Mr. Femi Fani Kayode and the governor of Ekiti state which is not a state Mr. Ayo Fayose. Please overlook our polical gluttonist and let's continue this struggle with our able big brother Nnamdi KANU the ohamadike nke mbu until victory is achieved. I greet you all — feeling excited.

Biafra: Rigorous Bail

Conditions Of Nnamdi Kanu

And The Unconditional Release

Of Boko Haram Terrorist

By Kings JV Chibuzor

For Family Writers

The nearly impossible bail conditions given to the leader of Indigenous People Of Biafra Mazi Nnamdi Kanu by Justice Binta Nyako and the freely/unconditional release of Book Haram terrorists on the order of president Muhammadu Buhari has proven to the world how corrupt Nigerian government and her judicial system can be. In Nigeria, self-determination is now a treasonous crime while professional and deadly terrorists are being released from detention and are protected by the Nigerian government and her judiciary

Recalling back to president Buhari's speech during the former administration led by Goodluck Ebele Jonathan which he openly stated thus:   "Any Attack On Boko Haram Terrorists Is An Attack To The North".

This statement can vividly prove that the present administration of president Buhari is sympathetic and is sponsoring boko haram, that is why they have been protecting the lives of terrorists than protecting/obeying rights to self-determination which is what Nnamdi Kanu was arrested for. Taking a good look at some of Nnamdi Kanu's kangaroo bail conditions, you will discover the incompetency in the Nigeria judicial system because some of the imposed bail conditions are breach to his fundamental human rights according to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (1949).

ON CITIZENS FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION.

Article 19 states that "Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; yet not everyone receives it. This right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers".

RIGHTS TO PERSONAL LIBERTY

Article 35.  section (1) of Nigeria 1999 constitution which states that "Every person shall be entitled to his personal liberty and no person shall be deprived of such liberty save in the following cases and in accordance with a procedure permitted by law".

Every person shall be entitled to assemble freely and associate with other persons, and in particular he may form or belong to any political party, trade union or any other association for the protection of his interests.

Provided that the provisions of this section shall not derogate from the powers conferred by this Constitution on the Independent National Electoral Commission with respect to political parties to which that Commission does not accord recognition.

The above sections of Nigeria 1999 constitution and United Nation's 1949 declaration on fundamental human rights has indicted the Nigeria government for breaching Nnamdi Kanu's personal liberty by imposing rigorous bail conditions which restricts him (Nnamdi Kanu) from seeing or gathering with more than ten (10) persons. Also, Nnamdi Kanu cannot grant interviews which also restrict his freedom of expression that is enshrined under United Nations law.

ON THE UNCONDITIONAL RELEASE OF BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS

The unconditional swapping of Boko Haram terrorist with the 82 Chibok women by the Nigerian government is a threat to national security which will also help in escalating terrorism around the country thereby putting humanity into danger.

THE STANCE OF IPOB ON THE BAIL CONDITIONS OF NNAMDI KANU

The rigorous bail conditions of IPOB leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is definitely  unacceptable by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). Forcefully Stopping a mother from breast feeding the child will definitely convert the child to a vampire.

Nnamdi Kanu is the leader of over 70million followers, therefore, imposing a tactical bail conditions to hinder him (Nnamdi Kanu) from attending to Biafrans and interested groups is a breach to his personal liberty and it's highly unacceptable. IPOB on several occasions have condemned in it's entirety these obnoxious and extremely rigorous bail conditions given to her leader and have also vowed to challenge them in the court so that it is either strucked out or varied.

Kanu's human rights have been brazenly violated with impunity by the Nigerian government unabated and IPOB will no longer condone such treatment being meted on her leader to continue. Mazi Nnamdi Kanu will continue to spearhead and champion the cause for Biafra restoration until Biafra is logically and completely restored.

They will hide it, but we will research and find it. Biafra was the collective effort of Igbos and non Igbos of the old Eastern Nigeria. Don't let anyone distort your historical facts.
__________________________________________
Today's tribute to the very brave, uncelebrated heroes who rejected the 12 states structure and chose Biafra;
1.Sir Frank Opigo
Of the 14 million Biafrans,9 million were ethnic Igbo and 5 million Eastern minority ethnic groups population like the Ijaw,Ogoja,Ogoni,Ibibio,Efik, etc.
The Eastern Region Consultative Assembly convened for two days at the Princess Alexandra auditorium of the University of Nigeria Nsukka on the 26th-27th of May 1967.They issued a communique asking Ojukwu to declare the Eastern region a sovereign republic of Biafra as soon as possible.
Of the 335 members of the Consultative Assembly,169 were Igbo and 166 were non-Igbo Eastern minorities. The Assembly chose the name suggested by Frank Opigo out of several other names put forward by members and that is how the republic became known as Biafra.
He was later appointed the administrator of Yenagoa province when Biafra was divided into 20 federal provinces.
Philip Effiong also nominated him as a member of the Biafra Advisory Council in January 1970 tasked with negotiating surrender to Nigeria.
If you call him the father of Biafra,it won't be a wrong appellation.
2.Gabriel Imomotimi Okara
The author, poet and novelist is best known for The Call of the River Nun,The Fisherman's Invocation ,The Dreamer and other literary works.
He worked for Biafra Directorate of Information with Dr Ifegwu Eke and Uche Chukwumerije. He also toured America with Chinua Achebe and Cyprian Ekwensi to "tell the world the fate of Biafra".
3.Cardinal Jim Rex Lawson
Arguably the most celebrated highlife musician in the 1960s with hit songs like "Sawale"which Flavour remixed as "Nwa Baby" in 2005.He sang in besieged cities and towns to uplift the spirits of the Biafran public.
Rex Lawson's war songs like Hail Biafra and God Bless Colonel Ojukwu were instant hits in Biafra and in the Biafra diaspora. He was arrested and tortured by federal forces but later released when the war ended. He died in a car accident in 1971.
All three of this unsung Biafran heroes were of Ijaw extraction.
