WRITERS COURT UPDATE: SCORES OF SECURITY AGENTS AT FEDERAL HIGH COURT ABUJA, AS
FG SETS FOR SECRET TRIAL
A multitude of heavily
armed security agents have been transfered to Federal High Court Abuja, as the
Nigerian government led by president Muhammadu Buhari fastens its belt for the
secret trial of the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu and three
other Biafra activists, which is expected to flag off today. Nnamdi Kanu and
co-defendants, Benjamin Madubugwu, David Nwawusi and Chidiebere Onwudiwe are
being charged by the Nigeria government of alleged treasonable felon.

who are on ground to cover the court proceedings can confirm that the security
agents are currently making the environment unbearable for journalists and
media outlets who have come to cover today's court case.
Nobody, including the journalists have been allowed entrance into the courtroom, as the heavily armed security officials, mostly members of Department of State Services have barricaded the court entrance.
There are fears over the safety of hundreds of Biafrans and spectators who have come to the court in solidarity with Nnamdi Kanu, as scores of Nigeria Police and Military officers have mounted at strategic positions around the court premises.

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), the Director of Radio Biafra
and Biafra TV.
I born in Isiama Afara, Abia State Biafraland, (present day Nigeria). The son of HRM; Eze Israel Okwu
Kanu (JP) and HRM Ugoeze Nnenne Kanu.
Mazi Nnamdi Kanu began his formal education at
the Library Avenue Primary School Umuahia. After which, he proceeded to the Government CollegeUmuahia for his secondary education from where he gained admission into
the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN).Incessant school shut downs compelled him to proceed to the
United Kingdom to continue with his education.
Mazi Nnamdi Kanu holds the belief and
conviction that all men are not only born equal but are born free as well. It
is this belief that has shaped his world view and made him to abhor all forms
of oppression. He began at a very early age to stand on the side of the weak,
the disadvantaged, the oppressed and against all manner of injustice;
As a political activist he set up a radio
station “Radio Biafra” as the medium through which his message of freedom is
propagated and communicated to the Biafran people in particular and to humanity
in general. He has used this Radio platform to educate the Indigenous People of
Biafra (IPOB) about their history and their fundamental rights as free people.
Because of his political activism he has become a Prisoner of Conscience (POC)
having been arrested by the Nigerian security apparatus on October 14 2015 for
exercising his universal but fundamental right to freedom of speech and for
espousing his political views. He has been held under degrading and terrible
inhuman conditions since his arrest by the Nigerian secret police the SSS and
tortured physically and psychologically. Despite repeated court rulings to the
effect that the Nigerian government has no case against him and should
therefore be released unconditionally, the Nigerian state continues through his
illegal detention to violate his fundamental rights
The Indigenous People of Biafra holds the view
that men and women of conscience and lovers of Liberty must actively engage
themselves to secure the freedom of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu the leader of the
Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) because his freedom is his fundamental
right.
The Department of
State Security Services simply known as DSS has reportedly denied members of
the press and some relatives of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of
Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu whose court trial is slated to commence today, January 10th
access to the court room to witness the trial of the IPOB leader and this has
led to a quarrel between the security operatives and Kanu's younger brother,
Prince Emmanuel.
The DSS did not allow
us entrance to the court. The brother to Nnamdi kanu is currently quarreling
with them and trying to ensure we gain access into the court room. On further
enquiries as to the rationale behind the obstruction into courtroom, they replied
that no press is allowed to enter into the court, saying it's an order from
Buhari, one of the witnesses said.
One of the DSS officials said that only one family member relating to the accused (Nnamdi Kanu) is allowed entry and that no press is allowed to entry as they don't want to disobey express orders from Buhari, the witness concluded.

uncountable number of Police and a detachment of men of the Nigerian DSS
brandishing all sorts of weapons barricading journalists from entering the
Courtroom.
Muhhamadu Buhari, the dictator in chief of the Nigerian government is
completely enforcing a COMPLETE secret trial of Nnamdi Kanu for a charge the
federal government of Nigeria is yet to establish a single evidence.
The Indigenous People of Biafra is hereby placing the entire world on notice
that Muhammadu Buhari is determined to convict Nnamdi Kanu
extra-judicially. There is no justification for the Secrete Trial of Nnamdi
Kanu which Muhammadu Buhari is enforcing today by banning everyone, including
journalists from entering the courtroom.
If there is any genuine offense committed by Nnamdi Kanu, Muhammadu Buhari
should only be ready and happy to let the world hear and know it. The world
should ask Buhari why he does not want the world to know and hear the offense
of Nnamdi Kanu the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra.

Court Abuja, being presided over by Buhari's sister, Binta Nyako.

OUT OF COURTROOM AS MAZI NNAMDI KANU REJECTS SECRET TRIAL
According to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu who spoke in rage, it is impossible for the
Buhari's government to accuse him publicly, then turn around to try him
secretly.

court in an enclosed Hilux van while an open Hilux with prison officers
followed closely.
Meanwhile, Nigerian
journalists have been prevented from gaining entrance into the court premises
to cover the trial of Nnamdi Kanu.

who arrived at the court premises told NAIJ.com that they were at the venue as
early as 7.30 am.
"We have been here
since 7.30 am and they said we can not go in there unless we have the Federal
High Court tag," Abraham Achida, a
photojournalist said.
"I have applied
three times since 2015, no action on the press card and now they want to punish
us for their laxity," another
journalist said.
Some of the journalists
who arrived at the court premises told NAIJ.com that they were at the venue as
