This is NIGERCEM CEMENT
COMPANY NKALAGU!
How many of us knew this company from Time??
This is theNigeria first
cement production company constructed in the old Anambra state, later during
the creation of more state was found to be in Enugu
This company was built by the colonial masters (The white), and it was serving the wholeNigeria
Now hear this, this company has over 10ththousand workers during its functional time and aswell provides individual job opportunities to over 5thousand persons as any business and handworks one are doing along Nkalagu-Eha amufu road down to the site of this cement company moves as fast as possible due to the population of migrants from other states into Ebonyi .
I can recall that it all started back in 1999 when Obasanjo and his administration knowing it fully well the importance of this cement production company to the people of the east and stopped paying the workers as the mode of operation of the very company then was that , the company generates its revenue, send it to the federal government and the federal government will now be the one to pay the workers and aswell maintains the company facilities.
But Obasanjo and his government championed the collapse and the downfall of this might cement company. How did they achieve it, they started by withholding workers salary from mid 1999/2000 making hunger and starvation to start befallen the workers, secondly they stopped the maintenance of the companys facilities/equipments,, which causes the break down of the stone harvesting and production unit of the company as its the major place that urgent attentions and maintenance are been needed mostly.
Upon that workers sticks to their oath of service and continued going to work without payments till 2001/2002 that leads to the deaths of some people which are very CLARE to me at that time. Personally my father would have be a victim as some of his working partners died then due to strokes that befalls them as a result of frustrations for their labour which is vain (But thankGod to mum who suggested another alternative and life continues). Some of our Igbo people heading some of the departments like Muoneke from anambra state, Ogbu from Nkalagu and CJC from Enugu and rest of others that i can't recall their names didnt observe what was going on as per that time till 2004 when they started fighting so hard to know if a little payments and rehabilitation will be made for the company start work again but to of no avail.
And thats how NIGERCEM CEMENT COMPANY NKALAGU becomes an old story and turn into a desert of hunting for hunters.
Nigercem! a company that gives free medical attention and treatment to every worker and his or her household, 10% medical payments discount to indigens of south east and south south, and free accommodation to her workers irrespective of your state.
And they conspired and finished Nigercem!

Chimaroke Nnamani of Enugu state, Sam Egwu of Ebonyi state, Sullivan Chime of Enugu state , Martins Elechi of Ebonyi state , and this present Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu state and Dave Umahi of Ebonyi state has all fought to the best of my knowledge to restore Nigercem cement company back but to of no avail all because its in the Eastern part of Nigeria.

still this economic maltreatment didnt stop, Ibeto tries to make wave for his own cement production, and the government was and has been on his neck till now,,he even wanted to restore Nigercem but bad Nigeria policy wouldn't let him in.
What else do we want to hear or see before we know that Hausa dominatedNigeria
Our governors and senators should STOP subjecting us to this slavery , its bad and unGodly, and God must surely judge them on every role they have played and are still playing against restoration ofBiafra
as an Independable nation.
