Director Of Radio-Nnamdi Kanu Speaks From Kuje Prison
Biafra Arrival Almost Here: Nnamdi Kanu Talks
Tough From Prison As Ezeife Again Blasts Buhari For His Hatred On The Igbos
Nnamdi Kanu
the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has spoken from prison,
The Radio Biafra director said the quest for Biafra is not his decision but
God’s own calling.
He says the
movement to actualize Biafra is a flame that cannot be put out.
The
Embattled Radio Biafra leader, Nnamdi Kanu who spoke from his prison custody on
Monday, July 25, claiming that it was not his choice to stir the agitation for
Biafra, but a call made by God.
The detained
leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) insisted that his decision to
restore the nation of Biafra was not his personal choice but a mandate from the
Most High God (Chiukwu-okike-abiama) which was assigned to him from time
immemorial.
Kanu
maintained that the restoration of the nation of Biafra is a priority and a
project that must be achieved under the watchful eyes of the IPOB led by him,
an arduous task that must be accomplished in order to lead his people out of
the contraption called Nigeria, without fear of death.
The Media
and Publicity Secretary of IPOB, Comrade Emma Powerful who disclosed this
yesterday in a press statement, quoted Kanu as telling some sympathizers who
visited him in prison custody that he had even dedicated his life to restore
Biafra, just as our Lord Jesus Christ dedicated His own life for the salvation
of mankind.
According to
Kanu: “the reason my mother gave birth to me was to restore and save Biafrans.
I also promise that the Biafran race will be a cleaned up nation and all the
people of Biafra will come back home, if they are living outside the country of
the new nation.
Our people
will no longer wander on the road again”. He queried: “How can I encourage the
people of Biafra to work towards the upbringing of Nigeria, when we don’t hear
the same language, don’t eat the same food and don’t have the same culture.
In fact, if
we come to their land to practice our culture and religion, we will be
beheaded. Their women wear hijab, and Biafran women don’t, and on the point
that our women don’t wear hijab and we don’t practice the same religion, they
will see us as infidels and then, we will be beheaded.
We are 100
per cent Christian. These people are Muslims who see killing as a culture. “In
Biafra where we originated from,, it will be hard for our people to kill a
human being, because in my language a human being is called MMANDU, which means
in English language the beauty of life.
Now, you can
see it will never work, the only solution is Biafra.” The Vanguard reports that
Mazi Kanu further stated that “there is no regret in his dictionary,” adding
that “he is ready to spend a thousand years in a prison”. “And also we are not trying
to secede from Nigeria. We are older than Nigeria. You can only talk about
seceding if Biafrans are the ones that colonized Nigeria. But we are older than
that contraption.
So we can’t
secede rather we just want to go back the way we were before the British came.
It is Biafra or nothing, Nigerians knows that.
”Meanwhile,
Dr Chukwuemeka Ezeife has claimed that President Muhammadu Buhari hates Igbos
and that he knew about this hatred a long time ago.
The
president has been criticised for what many described as lopsided appointment
that has largely favoured the north.
In an
interview with Vanguard, the former governor of Anambra revealed what was
discussed at the Igbo peace summit in Owerri, Imo state. He said: “We discussed
the problem that the South East is facing in today’s Nigeria. The problem of
hatred from Mr president.
“At the
beginning, not everybody saw it. I saw it early enough and thinking it was a
mistake and not a deliberate action, I started shouting.
We have not
been taken here, we have not been taken there, you have appointed 10 persons
nobody from Southeast; you have appointed 20 people nobody is from Southeast,
you have appointed 25, 30, 40 going further we have nobody, no soul from the
Southeast.
“So, I
started knowing that it is beyond a mistake. I was thinking it was a mistake
and since I believe that the person who is President must have conscience, I
was raising his consciousness to the mistake so that he can correct it even the
ones I tell you to write, you will find that everything I was saying is true.
Instead of
being taken seriously for amendment to be made, I was called enemy of the North
and enemy of Buhari.
So, these days, I am not talking too much again, I am talking about Nigeria.” In the same vein, the Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC), has demanded the immediate release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, saying it was long overdue.
So, these days, I am not talking too much again, I am talking about Nigeria.” In the same vein, the Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC), has demanded the immediate release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, saying it was long overdue.
Daily Post
reports that President of the OYC, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, who made the
demand for his release, in a statement he issued in Enugu on Monday, said such
step would help in calming frayed nerves across the South-East and the
South-South region.
He declared
that “the continuous detention of Nnamdi Kanu is in no small measure
contributing to the volatile security situation in the Southern Nigeria.
“On so many
occasions, several agitating groups have given his detention as one of the many
reasons behind their activities.
“In the
light of the above, we urge the President Muhammadu Buhari administration to
give peace a chance by enabling atmosphere of dialogue. “Both the international
conventions and the Nigerian Constitution allow for self determination.
However, we
insist that such much be done with due regard to the laws of the land.” “We,
therefore, urge the present government to unconditionally free Kanu from
detention.
“The government should take our assurances that we shall make efforts that no one take up arms against the government.
“The government should take our assurances that we shall make efforts that no one take up arms against the government.
We say this
because the IPOB, to which Kanu is a member, has remained non-violent and peaceful,”
Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro warned.
Nnamdi Kanu can never
sacrifice Biafra for his
freedom
-
Family backs IPOB Director
The family of the detained IPOB director, Nnamdi Kanu on
Saturday stated in clear terms that the incarcerated Director will never
renounce Biafra for any reason whatsoever.
According to a report by Saturday Sun, the family
represented by the younger brother of the incarcerated Director of Radio
Biafra, Prince Emmanuel Kanu, in a furious tone said it was embarrassing that
the family was not consulted before the purported meeting MEND said it had with
representatives of the Federal Government where the said concession was said to
have been secured for the conditional release of his elder brother should he
renounce Biafra.
“MEND is under IPOB and therefore, lacks the capacity to
speak on its behalf, We have not and will never put up Biafra for
sale.” he said.
Prince Kanu was emphatic that Nnamdi, his brother would
never trade Biafra for his freedom, reminding the MEND leadership that Biafra
was bigger than the militant group or any other group or body in the country.
According to him, “The North has its identity, Arewa, the
West has Oduduwa as its identity and since the identity of the South East is
Biafra, it will be wicked for anybody to ask Nnamdi to renounce Biafra for his
freedom. What will freedom to him and to all of us without Biafra?
“If Mr. President will renounce Arewa and his Vice, Oduduwa,
then Nnamdi and indeed all of us will renounce Biafra, it is as simple as
that”.
He said if it was for that reason they arrested his elder
brother in the first place, they made a serious mistake as they will live and
die for Biafra.
IPOB through its Head of Media and Publicity of IPOB, Mr.
Emma Powerful noted that they were not aware of any negotiation with the
Federal Government or any other group on their behalf, describing the alleged
condition as an insult and laughable.
“Can Buhari renounce that he is Fulani? If Buhari cannot
renounce his Fulani Islamic heritage, then IPOB will not countenance such
thought.
“It would be very foolish of anyone to sit in front of
Nnamdi Kanu to make such a proposal because he will bite off the person’s ear.
Nobody of sane mind will dare propose such nonsense to him”, Powerful warned.
“We are more determined in the quest for the restoration of
God’s own nation, Biafra people are saying that this question is insulting but
nevertheless, nobody can set agenda for us”, he added.
“On the other hand, IPOB and their leader Kanu are in full
support of any group of dedicated and hardcore freedom fighters such as the
Niger Delta Avengers (NDA). We have stated unequivocally and without any fear
of contradiction that we are fully in support of the NDA as they embark on
freeing themselves from the British criminality called Nigeria.
“Therefore, anybody thinking that our leader will renounce
Biafra is certifiably mad. For both IPOB and their leader, Nnamdi Kanu, it is
either we get Biafra or we die getting Biafra. There is no middle ground”
Iroanya and Nmezu insisted.
